Buying a Spanish Property


Choosing a property is a very subjective experience.  However the process of Buying a Spanish Property is objective and a relatively straightforward procedure providing that you follow the steps which you would apply to purchasing a property in your own country of residence:

Be aware that property agents can vary in competence and expertise - find a good agent.  

This is true also of solicitors  - find a good professional solicitor

Costs - you should calculate an additional  figure of about 10% to cover stamp duty, Notary and registry fees etc.  Also legal costs - ask a solicitor for a scale of his/her fees before appointment

Be au fait with the legal requirements for purchasing in Spain.
